Maverick James


Maverick is currently a Juris Doctor candidate at New York Law School graduating in May 2019. He has focused his education on technology, finance, privacy, and fintech. Thus, he has a robust understanding of the laws and regulations that surround these industries and provides valuable research to the firm’s attorneys.

In law school, he serves as managing editor and team captain of the New York Law School Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. He has also held leadership positions with various student affinity groups such as the privacy law association, OUTlaws, black law student association, and first-generation professionals. Maverick also interned with the Honorable Joan M. Azrack in the U.S District Court in the Eastern District of New York and the Honorable Andrea Masley in New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division.

Maverick advocates for diversity in the profession and was presented the student diversity champion award for his passion. He participates in pro bono efforts representing victims of cyberharassment, cyber bullying, and revenge porn through the New York Law School Cyberharrassment Clinic. Upon passing the New York Bar Exam, he will focus his practice representing clients on corporate, blockchain, privacy, and securities matters.
